Samsung Electronics has kicked off the acquisition of supplementary equipment for its semiconductor wafer fabrication facility in Taylor, Texas, USA, in a strategic move to amplify its production capabilities for 2nm process chips. Drawing on insights from industry insiders, as reported by South Korean tech outlet ZDNet Korea, the newly acquired machinery is poised to augment the plant's monthly production capacity by an estimated 6,000 wafers. Should the ensuing equipment setup and production line assembly progress according to schedule, the Taylor plant's monthly output for 2nm chips is anticipated to surge to 20,000 wafers during the latter half of 2027.
