On October 15, reports surfaced indicating that TSMC—the world’s premier contract chipmaker—unveiled its Q3 financial results on Thursday. Propelled by a global surge in demand for artificial intelligence (AI) processors, the company’s net profit for the quarter skyrocketed by 69% year-on-year, reaching NT$763.1 billion (approximately US$23.59 billion). This figure not only surpassed market analysts’ projections of NT$746.3 billion but also marked an all-time high for the semiconductor giant.
