According to reports, AI company Anthropic is advancing a project for custom AI accelerators, with plans for Broadcom to handle chip design, followed by production using Samsung Foundry's SF2 2-nanometer process. Initial production volume is rumored to be around 200,000 units, a relatively limited scale. As the project still requires supporting infrastructure such as networking, server racks, power supply, and cooling systems, Anthropic is said to first assess the feasibility of the entire solution. However, neither Anthropic, Samsung, nor Broadcom has publicly confirmed this foundry arrangement or the related figures.
