On October 7, according to Nikkei News, Okayama Murata Manufacturing will increase the production of ceramic materials required for electronic components. In response to the rising demand for AI-related components, the company plans to invest approximately 9 billion yen to expand its production lines. Construction is expected to commence at the headquarters factory in October, with production set to begin in April 2028. The scale of the new production capacity has not been disclosed. Murata Manufacturing's ultrafine, high-purity ceramic materials are widely used in products such as multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), and the company holds the highest global market share in the MLCC sector.
