On September 29, the latest research from TrendForce revealed that the demand for AI servers is on a continuous upswing. This has led to a situation where HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and Conventional DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory) are vying for a limited supply of advanced process technologies and wafer fabrication capacities. Concurrently, it will require some time for the yield rates and production volumes of new-generation products to enhance. Consequently, the memory supply is anticipated to stay constrained through 2027. Considering the general upward trajectory of memory prices, suppliers are unequivocal about their intention to increase HBM prices in 2027. To accurately mirror the effects of the tight supply scenario, the growing share of higher-priced HBM4 in the market, and the phased introduction of HBM4e in the latter half of 2027, TrendForce has revised its price forecasts for HBM for the upcoming year upwards. It now projects that the yearly increase in the Blended ASP (Average Selling Price) will hit 121%.
