On September 28, 2026, it was reported that Qualcomm is evaluating Samsung Electronics' 2nm wafer foundry process for potential use in its next-generation mobile chips. Currently, Qualcomm is still in the preliminary evaluation stage, primarily focused on understanding the capabilities of Samsung's 2nm process and assessing its application potential. Previously, Samsung had manufactured Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chips, but since 2022, Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips have been exclusively manufactured by TSMC.
