As per recent reports, Doosan is set to allocate around 970 billion won towards boosting its production capabilities of copper clad laminates (CCLs), a vital component for AI chips. Specifically, 420 billion won will be earmarked for the expansion of the production line dedicated to optical module copper clad laminates in South Korea. Meanwhile, an additional 550 billion won will be channeled into constructing a state-of-the-art copper clad laminate factory in China. The products manufactured at this new facility will cater to the needs of AI accelerators and network switches. Doosan has outlined a phased approach to ramp up production at its newly established factories in South Korea and China, with operations slated to commence gradually from 2028 onwards. Since 2024, NVIDIA has incorporated Doosan's copper clad laminate products into its supply chain, propelling the sales in this particular business segment to soar by 86% year-on-year last year, culminating in a staggering 1.9 trillion won.
