On September 16, Samsung Electronics announced that it would outsource all additional DDR5 memory module production capacity to its Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners, focusing on producing DDR5 memory modules and Solid State Drives (SSDs) required for PCs, servers, and laptops, while concentrating its own production capacity on high-value products such as High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). This move aims to enhance production efficiency, meet market demand for high-performance memory, and solidify Samsung's leadership position in the high-end memory market.
