On September 16, Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd. announced the launch of its new lithium-ion battery research and development facility, the 'Energy Innovation Plaza,' in Kadoma City, Osaka Prefecture. This facility will serve as the company's global center for battery R&D and production, covering material development, cell design, and prototype fabrication. Panasonic Energy stated that the Energy Innovation Plaza will collaborate with the Production Development Center in Suminoe-ku, Osaka City, to accelerate the development and mass production of next-generation batteries for automotive and data center applications, while also transferring technologies and processes to its factories in Japan and in Nevada and Kansas, USA.
