On September 15, 2026, the Micron Taiwan Union convened a press conference to voice its opposition to a performance incentive package unveiled by company management the previous week. The proposed plan features a NT$1 million gratitude cash bonus, annual performance bonuses capped at 500%, and supplementary stock grants. The union is advocating for the creation of a profit-sharing mechanism that is open, transparent, and capable of verification, with the goal of attaining compensation terms akin to those enjoyed by employees at Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Specifically, the union is requesting that the company earmark 15% of its operating profit for employee remuneration, to be disbursed on a quarterly basis. Negotiations between the two parties are scheduled for the 18th and 21st of this month. Should these talks fail to yield an agreement, the union has indicated it will contemplate initiating a strike vote process.
