The China Mobile Research Institute has made significant strides in the realm of high-dimensional quantum technology. Leveraging silicon photonic quantum chips, its research team successfully generated three-particle, four-dimensional GHZ entangled states and W entangled states, achieving fidelities of 93.2% and 90.1%, respectively. This accomplishment marks a new benchmark for scalability in the field.
Notably, the team introduced, for the first time, a universal definition for high-dimensional W entangled states, refined the underlying theoretical framework, and devised a scalable preparation method. These innovations have effectively overcome the technological hurdles associated with large-scale preparation.
High-dimensional quantum entanglement offers superior information capacity and enhanced resistance to interference compared to two-dimensional systems. As such, it provides vital support for the practical deployment of quantum computing and quantum communication technologies.
