On September 15th, reports surfaced indicating that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in conjunction with the National Development and Reform Commission, recently unveiled the '15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry.' This strategic plan underscores the imperative to foster robust growth within the spatiotemporal information sector, expedite the extensive deployment of the Beidou system, and facilitate its evolution from specialized industrial applications to broad-based societal integration.

The plan advocates for intensive research and development efforts in pivotal Beidou technologies, encompassing chips, algorithms, anti-interference mechanisms, and satellite-ground integration. These initiatives aim to surmount existing technological hurdles and construct a comprehensive technology supply chain. Furthermore, leveraging the national integrated Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) framework, the plan encourages the harmonious convergence of Beidou navigation, satellite internet, and spatial remote sensing technologies. This approach is designed to establish a seamless industrial chain, spanning from chip manufacturing to service provision, and to propel the profound integration of spatiotemporal information technology with the tangible economy.
