On September 15th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with the National Development and Reform Commission, unveiled the '15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry.' This strategic blueprint underscores the imperative to solidify and broaden the competitive edge of the energy electronics sector, fostering synchronized advancements in energy electronics technologies encompassing 'photovoltaics, energy storage, terminals, and information.' Specifically, the plan aims to expedite the enhancement of high-efficiency crystalline silicon photovoltaic cell technologies and pioneer next-generation high-efficiency photovoltaic cell technologies, such as perovskite tandem cells, alongside their ancillary equipment and materials. Concurrently, it will champion the development of highly reliable and intelligent photovoltaic modules and operational maintenance technologies, thereby broadening the application scope of 'photovoltaics+.' Moreover, the plan envisions bolstering the innovation prowess across the entire industrial chain for novel battery types, cementing the dominance of lithium batteries, and propelling the industrialization of solid-state batteries, sodium batteries, flow batteries, fuel cells, and the like. It advocates for the evolution of these new battery types towards intelligence, eco-friendliness, and integration, supporting their deployment across diverse domains including smart terminals, new energy vehicles, ships, aviation, intelligent robots, construction machinery, and agricultural machinery. Lastly, the plan accentuates the necessity to expedite research and development in pivotal power electronics technologies, augment the supply capabilities of critical core devices and components, and enhance the efficient integration and precise regulation of energy storage systems.
