On September 14, TrendForce's latest research on the memory industry unveiled that the NOR Flash market is currently experiencing its most profound supply-demand structural shift in nearly a decade. Owing to the fact that AI technologies are consuming a substantial portion of production capacity, coupled with escalating demand for high-end applications, suppliers have only been able to marginally increase the bit output of NOR Flash. It is anticipated that this supply-demand imbalance will persist through the second half of 2026, keeping overall contract prices at elevated levels, with prices for high-capacity products potentially doubling. Specifically, due to robust demand from AI servers and automotive applications, the average prices of high-capacity NOR Flash products (256Mb and above) are projected to surge by 90%-110% in the latter half of the year. Conversely, the price hikes for medium- and low-capacity products (128Mb and below) are expected to decelerate, with a predicted increase of 10%-20% in the fourth quarter.
