According to Digitimes, the industry has recently received notices from upstream memory manufacturers stating that shipment volume (outbound shipments) will be significantly reduced in 2027, leading to a notable supply-demand gap for DRAM. Nearly all production capacity for 2027-2028 has already been pre-booked. Cliff Chen, General Manager of Team Group, noted that the shortage may be most acute in the first half of 2027, with external supply sources becoming scarce. During this period, Team Group will have to selectively supply certain customers. He expressed concerns that memory chip manufacturers' practice of choosing customers for supply could impact subsequent revenue.
