Developer Daniel Blanco has released the DLSS-NR for AMD tool, which enables AMD RDNA 4 architecture-based RX 9000 series graphics cards to run NVIDIA's DLSS 5 technology. The principle is that both natively support FP8 computation. To use it, users need to place the installer and NVIDIA's nvngx_dlssnr.dll file into the game's bin folder and switch neural rendering functionality via FSR 3 or FSR 4 configuration files. However, the tool is currently only compatible with single-player games without anti-cheat restrictions and does not support older AMD graphics cards. In early versions, tests showed significant frame rate drops when running Cyberpunk 2077 on the RX 9070 XT, but performance improved after the Alpha v0.2.7 update. DLSS 5 is NVIDIA's next-generation AI graphics technology planned for release in 2026, with its core breakthrough being the introduction of real-time neural rendering models that enhance image detail realism through generative AI.
