On September 3, the South Korean KOSPI index surged by over 1% on Thursday, rebounding from a two-week slump. This upward movement was buoyed by chip stocks, which followed the overnight gains seen in U.S. markets. Earlier, on Wednesday, Wall Street stocks staged a partial recovery after three consecutive days of losses. Amid a recent escalation in risk-averse sentiment, investors have shifted their focus to stocks and sectors that were previously oversold.

Broadcom, a prominent player in the semiconductor industry, forecasted on Wednesday that sales of AI chips would experience robust growth over the next two years. This prediction serves as further evidence of the strong demand for AI infrastructure from leading tech companies. Simultaneously, investors are evaluating the returns on their substantial investments in AI technologies.

In the South Korean KOSPI index, which comprises 907 stocks, 568 experienced gains while 304 declined. However, foreign investors net sold South Korean stocks worth 210.3 billion won (approximately $155.1 million), indicating a cautious stance amid the market's recovery.
