U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick confirmed on September 2 that the White House is developing a tariff framework for semiconductor products, and relevant companies have been informed of the impending implementation of new tariffs. The tariff plan covers not only chips but also products that use chips, such as laptops, game consoles, and data center servers. Lutnick stated that if companies do not build factories on U.S. soil, they will be subject to tariffs.
