Nevertheless, insights from supply chain sources suggest that this anticipation might not come to fruition. As per a blogger's disclosure, the Mate XT2 will instead be powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chip. This decision stems from the fact that the component orders for this model were placed prior to the mass production phase of the Tao's Law architecture chip. Additionally, the delayed release aims to provide a sales window for the Pura X Max.
Should this revelation hold true, the Tao's Law architecture chip is poised to make its grand entrance alongside the Mate 90 series on September 23. This cutting-edge chip boasts a remarkable 53.5% surge in transistor density compared to conventional 2D architectures. It also achieves a 41% enhancement in energy efficiency for its ultra-large cores, coupled with a 12.7% boost in peak frequency. In certain specialized domains, its overall performance is on par with, or even surpasses, overseas flagship chips of the same caliber.
Huawei opted not to rush the integration of this chip into the Mate XT2, prioritizing the stability of the product experience. This strategic move renders the debut with the Mate 90 series all the more significant. The implementation of this chip will signify a monumental milestone in breaking through overseas computational power blockades for domestic chips.
