SK Group Chairman: Potential Collaboration with Kioxia on the Table

On Tuesday, a report from Japan's Asahi Shimbun revealed that Chey Tae-won, the Chairman of SK Group, mentioned that joint manufacturing with Kioxia Holdings represents a viable cooperation avenue for the two semiconductor firms. SK Hynix is currently contemplating the establishment of a production facility in Japan. Chey highlighted that Kioxia possesses considerable strengths, and there exists a solid foundation for collaboration between the two entities in terms of production, research and development (R&D), and supply chain management. However, should a practical and mutually beneficial cooperation framework fail to materialize, SK Hynix might consider scaling down its indirect investment in Kioxia.
