According to project developers, NVIDIA's GPU-accelerated frame interpolation feature has been integrated into FFmpeg via the Vulkan API. As a widely used multimedia processing tool, FFmpeg supports a large number of modern platforms, services, and applications, including YouTube. This integration enables FFmpeg to leverage NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs to predict and generate video frames, enhancing video frame rates, such as upgrading 30FPS videos to 60FPS. The feature is implemented through an optical flow accelerator, eliminating reliance on proprietary software and directly benefiting users of RTX 30, 40, and 50 series graphics cards.
