On September 1, research institution Sigmaintell unveiled its memory price indicator, revealing that during the third quarter of 2026, the global memory market continued to experience a tight supply-demand balance. Prices for all DRAM and NAND Flash categories rose sequentially, yet the pace of these increases slowed considerably compared to the second quarter, with some memory chips witnessing sequential hikes narrowing to less than 10%. Within this landscape, the DRAM market sustained its price escalation, though downstream acceptance levels varied. PC terminals, pressured by cost considerations, adopted a more cautious procurement stance; the rise in mobile LPDDR prices was particularly impacted by the deceleration in terminal stockpiling. As for NAND Flash, enterprise-level demand offered some price support, but consumer PC clients' willingness to absorb price hikes diminished, leading to a reduction in procurement and stockpiling intentions (‘willigness’ is retained as is for contextual accuracy), and the price increase for mobile flash memory was also significantly curbed.
