On August 31st, South Korea's Seoul Economic Daily reported that the Bank of Korea has issued a warning: If the growth in corporate and household income driven by the semiconductor boom translates into actual consumption, inflationary pressures may rise again. Currently, the increase in semiconductor export prices has boosted purchasing power, and the Bank of Korea judges that once consumption accelerates, demand may exceed supply capacity. The central bank pointed out that this demand-side price pressure is also one of the reasons for the recent rare move of consecutive interest rate hikes.
