On August 28, Kwak Noh-Jung, CEO of SK Hynix, stated that the expansion of AI infrastructure will continue to drive growth in demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM). He anticipates that tight conditions in the memory market may persist until the end of 2030, with no significant signs of a downturn currently evident in the industry. He pointed out that AI memory is increasingly adopting customized products developed in collaboration with customers, making demand more predictable. As a result, future industry downturns may be milder compared to the past, and the sharp 'boom-bust' cycles seen in the traditional memory market are unlikely to recur.
