On August 28, it was reported that SK Hynix is considering deepening its cooperative relationship with Japanese flash memory manufacturer Kioxia. SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung stated that the company is exploring various ways to strengthen cooperation, but there are no specific plans yet regarding the equity stake in Kioxia currently held indirectly through an investment vehicle under Bain Capital. According to a previous agreement, SK Hynix's voting rights cannot exceed 15% without Kioxia's consent until 2028. When asked about plans to expand investments in the United States, Kwak Noh-Jung did not provide specific information. Additionally, Kwak Noh-Jung revealed that SK Hynix is still evaluating the possibility of listing its U.S. NAND subsidiary, Solidigm. Previously, South Korean media reported that Solidigm is seeking pre-IPO financing amounting to KRW 5 trillion to KRW 10 trillion, but SK Hynix stated that no decision has been made yet regarding this matter.
