On August 27, Yu Weining, the Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department at the National Bureau of Statistics, delivered an in-depth analysis of the profit data for industrial enterprises from January to July 2026. The figures revealed a substantial 1.1-fold year-on-year increase in electronics industry profits during this period, playing a pivotal role in driving the 9.3-percentage-point profit growth across all industrial enterprises of a designated size or larger. Notably, the integrated circuit sector, encompassing computing chips and memory chips, experienced an astonishing 18.5-fold surge in profits, accounting for over 80% of the electronics industry's profit growth. Furthermore, related sectors such as computer whole machine manufacturing, computer peripheral equipment manufacturing, and industrial control computer and system manufacturing also witnessed significant profit increases, rising by 3.3 times, 2.5 times, and 1.6 times, respectively. In the realm of electronic device and component manufacturing, industries like electronic special material manufacturing, semiconductor discrete device manufacturing, and electronic circuit manufacturing also demonstrated robust growth, with profits climbing by 226.8%, 45.8%, and 37.1%, respectively.
