Yu Weining, the Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department at the National Bureau of Statistics, highlighted that with the swift advancement of 'Artificial Intelligence+' and the persistent surge in demand for computing power, the escalating need for related products has propelled prices upward. This, in turn, has spurred rapid profit growth in the electronic industry associated with AI production and applications. From January to July this year, the profit within the electronic industry surged by 1.1 times year-on-year, contributing a substantial 9.3 percentage points to the profit growth of all industrial enterprises above a designated scale, thus emerging as the primary catalyst for its swift profit expansion.
Notably, the integrated circuit industry, especially in the realms of computing chips and memory chips, witnessed profits skyrocket by 18.5 times year-on-year, accounting for over 80% of the profit growth in the electronic industry. Furthermore, profits in related sectors such as the whole manufacturing of computers, manufacturing of computer peripheral equipment, and manufacturing of industrial control computers and systems also experienced significant increases, rising by 3.3 times, 2.5 times, and 1.6 times, respectively.
In the domain of electronic device and component manufacturing, profits in the manufacturing of electronic specialty materials, semiconductor discrete devices, and electronic circuits saw remarkable growth, increasing by 226.8%, 45.8%, and 37.1%, respectively.
