According to a report from the foreign media outlet NU.nl, the US government is contemplating escalating its pressure on the Dutch government, aiming to compel semiconductor equipment behemoth ASML to entirely cease exporting chip manufacturing equipment to China. The US is vigorously lobbying to sever the supply of these crucial devices to customers on the Chinese mainland. Previously, the US has persistently exerted pressure on the Netherlands to curb ASML's exports of advanced lithography machines to China and has endeavored to obstruct the provision of maintenance services. Should this maneuver succeed, it would exert a substantial influence on China's chip industry; however, it could also inflict damage on the economic interests of ASML and the Netherlands. China has consistently voiced its objection to the US's practice of overextending the concept of national security and coercing other nations into imposing technological blockades against it.
