On August 19, data released on Wednesday showed that in the first half of this year, driven by robust global demand for artificial intelligence semiconductors, the profits of listed companies in South Korea reached a record high. According to data from the Korea Exchange, from January to June, the consolidated operating profits of 720 listed companies in the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) surged by 348.5% year-on-year to 275 trillion won (approximately $195.2 billion); consolidated revenues increased by 34.5% year-on-year to 1,070 trillion won; and net profits soared by 330% to 2,915 trillion won.
