Lam Research has announced that it will invest over US$3 billion in its global R&D laboratory network over the next five years, with an expected increase in experimental capacity of more than 50%. Its global laboratories are located across three continents—North America, Asia, and Europe—and support over 1 million multi-disciplinary experiments annually, laying the technological foundation for innovation in the semiconductor and optoelectronics fields. The company's President and CEO stated that this initiative aims to proactively meet customer needs, strengthen the global innovation engine, and drive breakthroughs in next-generation semiconductor technologies.
