Recently, NVIDIA, in collaboration with Google and Microsoft, launched the industry's first 800V high-voltage direct current (DC) power supply architecture through the Open Compute Project (OCP), helping AI factories move away from AC power supply. Currently, over 80 equipment manufacturers have adopted the new standard. Traditional AC power supply requires multiple conversions, with losses occurring at each stage, and the higher the density, the more significant the waste. With the adoption of 800V DC power supply, the number of conversion stages from the power grid to the GPU is significantly reduced, allowing high-voltage electricity to be directly supplied to the accelerators, enabling more power to reach the chips and effectively breaking through the power bottleneck for computing expansion.
