On August 12, market research firm Counterpoint Research unveiled its latest quarterly report, revealing that during the second quarter of 2026, YMTC's NAND flash memory, when assessed by total shipment capacity, marginally overtook Kioxia. This achievement marked YMTC's debut as the world's third-largest NAND flash memory supplier, securing a 14% market share. Its shipment capacity witnessed a year-on-year surge of 22% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 5%. Nevertheless, when evaluated based on revenue, YMTC occupied the fifth position in the industry, falling behind Micron and Kioxia. This is primarily because its product lineup is predominantly focused on consumer-grade applications, with a comparatively smaller share of high-value enterprise-grade solid-state drives tailored for data centers.
