Sources indicate that SK Hynix has recommenced the building of Fab 2 at its NAND flash memory production hub in Dalian, China. The objective is to elevate production capacity by approximately 50%. The construction of this factory kicked off four years prior but was put on hold owing to a slump in the memory sector. SK Hynix intends to bring in semiconductor manufacturing equipment by the close of this year, with formal production set to kick off in the first half of the upcoming year. The fresh production line will process around 50,000 wafers each month. When factoring in the capacity of Fab 1, the overall production capacity in Dalian will witness an increase of about 50%.
