According to a report from the Chinese website of South Korea's JoongAng Ilbo on August 11, Kiwoom Securities has lowered the target stock prices of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix amid market concerns that the boom in the commodity memory chip industry has peaked. Recently, several securities firms have successively lowered their target stock price expectations for these two leading companies in the South Korean stock market. The report stated that the trend of securities firms in South Korea lowering target stock prices has been evident since the end of last month. At that time, amid controversies over the semiconductor industry reaching its peak and the release of SK Hynix's second-quarter financial report, major securities firms such as Mirae Asset Securities, Shinhan Investment Securities, and Samsung Securities have sequentially reduced the target prices of these two stocks by approximately 30%.
