According to two sources familiar with the matter, Microsoft plans to significantly increase production of its self-developed next-generation AI chips next year to attract large cloud service providers such as Anthropic. Despite the low market acceptance of the current-generation Maia 200, Microsoft has decided to proceed with the production expansion. One of the insiders stated that Microsoft plans to officially release the new Maia 300 chip this fall, with a potential debut as early as next month.
