On August 10, reports emerged indicating that Samsung Electronics’ HBM4 mass production yield rate has recently edged close to 80%, hitting the industry’s benchmark for a “golden yield rate.” Back in February, during the initial phase of mass production, the yield rate lingered below 60%. However, within just half a year, it has witnessed a remarkable improvement, with the pace of process enhancement surpassing initial projections. Samsung has outlined an aggressive strategy to boost HBM4 revenue to over threefold that of the second quarter in Q3, and aims to elevate its share of the company’s total HBM revenue to surpass 60% in the latter half of the year. Furthermore, the tech giant has set its sights on elevating its HBM market share to a level on par with that of DRAM by year-end, which currently stands at approximately 38%.
