On August 5, the board of directors of Nanya Technology, a Taiwanese semiconductor memory giant, approved a major investment plan. The company will invest NT$346.6 billion (approximately US$10.7 billion) in the Fab5A wafer fab from 2026 to 2029. This is the largest-scale expansion in Nanya Technology's history, aiming to introduce extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) technology and upgrade its production processes to advanced 10-nanometer-class nodes such as 1b, 1c, 1d, and 1e.
