South Korea's SK Group Chairman, Choi Tae-won, has, for the first time on a personal level, acquired 3,620 shares of SK Hynix in the open market, with a transaction amount totaling approximately KRW 4.79 billion. This strategic move is a testament to his management philosophy of "responsible stewardship," reflecting his unwavering confidence in the semiconductor industry's long-term growth potential and his belief that SK Hynix's current share price is significantly undervalued. Previously, Choi Tae-won held an indirect stake of roughly 20% in the company through SK Square.

After reaching an all-time high on June 25, SK Hynix's stock price has plummeted by over 50% in just slightly more than a month. Choi Tae-won has consistently underscored his commitment to a long-term investment strategy in SK Hynix, asserting that the demand for memory chips will remain robust and anticipating a rebound in the stock price over the long haul. He advocates for a long-term holding approach, which he deems more advantageous. Notably, the scale of this share acquisition did not surpass KRW 5 billion, thereby negating the requirement for a 30-day advance declaration.
