The year-to-date performance rankings of funds are currently experiencing substantial shifts. According to Wind data, as of July 28, there were only six funds left with year-to-date returns surpassing 100%, marking a steep drop from the 246 funds that achieved this feat at the end of June. In less than a month, the count of "double your money" funds has plummeted by 97.56%.

The dramatic decrease in the number of "double your money" funds can be attributed to a collective downturn in the technology sector, which had previously been the driving force behind the market's rally. Since July, the ChiNext 50 Index and the STAR 50 Index have tumbled by 23.16% and 23.97%, respectively, as the market shifted from a one-sided surge to a phase of high-level consolidation. Funds with heavy investments in sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and communications have borne the brunt of this downturn.

It's worth noting that the intense market volatility has also amplified the performance divergence among top-performing funds. Some funds with highly concentrated portfolios have witnessed significant retracement in their gains. Meanwhile, others have managed to stay above the "double your money" threshold by proactively reducing their positions and adjusting their portfolio structures in a timely manner.
