US ITC Officially Launches Section 337 Investigation into Anode Materials Used in Battery Cells and Batteries

On July 22nd, according to China's Trade Remedy Information Network, on July 21st, 2026, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) decided to initiate a Section 337 investigation into certain anode materials used in battery cells and batteries (Investigation No.: 337-TA-1513). The petition was filed on June 18th by US-based Sila Nanotechnologies and Georgia Tech Research Corporation, alleging patent infringement by the relevant products and requesting the issuance of a limited exclusion order and cease and desist order. The named respondents include three Chinese companies.
