NVIDIA has recently offered a thorough examination of its cutting-edge Rubin GPU architecture, marking substantial advancements in large-scale computing across multi-rack, multi-system, and data center environments. This architecture stands as a pivotal achievement in NVIDIA's technological progression, boasting a remarkable computing prowess of up to 50 PetaFLOPS when operating with sparse NVFP4 instructions. The Rubin GPU integrates two compute chips interconnected by a high-bandwidth interface, encompassing 224 streaming multiprocessors and 896 Tensor Cores. It is further enhanced with 288GB of HBM4 memory, delivering a staggering bandwidth of up to 22 TB/s. Moreover, the Rubin GPU optimizes the tensor memory accelerator, diminishes the computational overhead associated with metadata and the expenses linked to data transfer, elevates matrix operation efficiency, and substantially amplifies Softmax throughput within special function units. These enhancements collectively eradicate bottlenecks in inference processes for low-precision data types, ensuring seamless performance.
