On Monday, social media behemoth Meta and chip manufacturer NVIDIA jointly declared their participation in the material discovery initiative led by British AI startup CuspAI. This project is dedicated to uncovering novel manufacturing materials tailored for the semiconductor sector. Earlier this month, CuspAI successfully secured a funding round worth $450 million, attracting investments from entities such as the venture capital fund of Amazon's founder, Jeff Bezos, and the UK government. This infusion of capital has propelled the company's valuation to an impressive $2.6 billion. Additionally, CuspAI unveiled the formation of the 'AI Material Foundry' alliance, a consortium comprising over 45 companies, including industry giants NVIDIA and Meta. The alliance's primary objective is to consolidate computing power resources, thereby furnishing robust support for cutting-edge material research endeavors.
