On Wednesday, ASML unveiled its financial results for the second quarter, revealing revenue of €9.33 billion and a net profit of €2.92 billion, both surpassing market forecasts. This robust performance was primarily attributed to the soaring demand from AI chip producers. As the exclusive provider of extreme ultraviolet lithography technology, ASML is witnessing its customers aggressively ramping up production to cater to the burgeoning needs of the AI sector. Notably, Intel is set to leverage ASML's cutting-edge high-numerical-aperture machinery for crafting sophisticated chips, marking a significant milestone as the inaugural real-world deployment of this groundbreaking technology.

For the second instance this year, ASML has revised upwards its annual performance projections, now anticipating yearly sales to range between €43 billion and €45 billion, coupled with a gross margin spanning from 54% to 56%. The escalating investments in AI and the relentless march of technological progress are fueling a surge in demand for high-end chips, thereby bolstering the semiconductor industry's growth trajectory.
