On July 15, the Information Office of the State Council convened a press conference to unveil the national economic performance for the first half of 2026. According to the data, during the first half of the year, the value-added of industrial enterprises above the designated scale nationwide witnessed a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. New growth engines, including high-end manufacturing, the digital economy, and modern services, accounted for over 40% of the economic growth. Notably, the output of integrated circuits by industrial enterprises above the designated scale surged by 23.1%, reaching a staggering 279.8 billion units, with the daily average output surpassing 1.5 billion units. Moreover, retail sales of wearable smart devices, such as smart glasses, more than doubled, while retail sales of high-efficiency home appliances saw an increase of over 30%.
