Tesla has finalized the design of its fifth-generation artificial intelligence chip, known as the AI5 SoC, and has chosen Samsung’s semiconductor fabrication plant in Taylor, Texas, for its mass production. Leveraging Samsung’s advanced SF2 (2-nanometer) process technology, the collaboration aims to deliver cutting-edge computing capabilities for Tesla within the United States. This strategic partnership aligns with funding secured by Samsung under the CHIPS and Science Act, reinforcing efforts to localize the production of critical semiconductor components.
