Samsung Electronics is making a strategic comeback in the PC chip sector, this time focusing on the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence. Its LSI division is currently in the process of developing a specialized AI accelerator, internally codenamed 'GAIA', designed specifically to deliver high-efficiency computing capabilities for personal computers. Leveraging a cutting-edge 4-nanometer manufacturing process, this chip is branded as a 'memory-centric AI accelerator', emphasizing its unique approach to data processing.

Prototype versions of the GAIA chip have already been dispatched to leading PC manufacturers, including Lenovo and HP, for rigorous testing and evaluation. If these trials prove successful, Samsung anticipates commencing mass production of the GAIA chip as early as the coming year, marking a significant milestone in its AI and semiconductor endeavors.
