On July 9, the semiconductor materials sector in the A-share market delivered an exceptional performance, with Shanghai Hoping surging to its daily limit. As a frontrunner in China's semiconductor silicon epitaxial wafer industry, Shanghai Hoping recently orchestrated a grand commencement ceremony in Zhengzhou for the research, development, and industrialization project of its subsidiary, Zhengzhou Hoping's second-phase 12-inch semiconductor silicon wafer production line. With the new production line becoming fully operational, Shanghai Hoping's total annual production capacity for 12-inch epitaxial wafers is set to incrementally rise to 1.2 million wafers.

The company announced that, amidst the prevailing trend of self-sufficiency within the semiconductor industry chain, the expansion of its 12-inch wafer capacity will aptly cater to the demands of mainstream domestic wafer foundries and expedite the process of import substitution. Simultaneously, the establishment of the SOI joint venture is anticipated to shatter the monopoly held by overseas manufacturers in this domain, enabling the company to capitalize on opportunities within the domestic substitution and emerging application markets. Consequently, the structural growth prospects within the high-end silicon wafer market are continuously broadening.
