On July 6th, Leiphone broke the news that Chen Peng, previously the chief of chip R&D at Horizon Robotics, resigned from his role in late April to venture into entrepreneurship. Remarkably, he accomplished seed round financing in under two months. This funding round attracted top-tier venture capital firms, achieving a valuation that sets a recent benchmark in the industry. Prior to his tenure at Horizon Robotics, Chen Peng dedicated nearly two decades to HiSilicon, eventually ascending to the presidency of the chip product line. Under his leadership, the R&D and mass production of the Journey 6 series chips were successfully realized. As of now, Chen Peng has kept the specific focus of his new business venture under wraps.
