Recently, an article surfaced online, authored by some netizens, asserting that a new regulation—the Technical Specification for Automotive-Grade AI Chips for New Energy Vehicles—jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation, would come into effect on July 1. According to this purported rule, all newly manufactured domestic new energy passenger vehicles must incorporate intelligent driving chips with a localization rate of no less than 70%. Vehicles failing to meet this criterion would face a ban on declaration, production, and licensing. However, upon verification by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it has been confirmed that no such document has been issued, nor have any regulations concerning the localization rate of chip technology for new energy vehicles been established. The China Internet Joint Disinformation Busting Platform urges netizens to trust only information disseminated through official channels and to refrain from believing or spreading unverified rumors.
