On July 6th, Samsung Electronics announced on Monday that employees in its semiconductor business will receive a performance bonus of up to 100% of their base salary for the first half of this year, the same level as the second half of last year, with bonuses to be distributed on Wednesday. Currently, the semiconductor industry is embracing an AI super cycle, with increasing shipments of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). Analysts predict that Samsung's memory chip division will achieve an operating profit of approximately 140 trillion Korean won (about $91 billion) in the first half of this year, with the annual operating profit potentially nearing 350 trillion won. Samsung will release its second-quarter earnings guidance on Tuesday.
